Why Does Life Interfere with Living?
Why does life interfere with living?
Everything that sustains an individual fails to sustain an individual.
The necessities of life fail to fulfill needs.
The body requires food, water, air.
The person needs money and shelter and community.
The spirit desires both most and least.
One's spirit can be starved and neglected while the body and person lives.
One's spirit must be suffocated and abandoned for the body and person to live.
But If the spirit is dead, can one be alive?
How many of us are dead?
How often are we asked to die?
Better yet, why do we so rarely get to live?
We fight through the moratorium of the week
For fleeting moments of revival at the end.
We kill ourselves over months
for vacations that undead us a day.
We allow our spirits to leave
Only for them to agonize
Over their perpetual lose.
Existence is not living.
Not only does a coward die 1000 times,
But so does a hero.
Mortality does not mean one day one shall perish.
It is a guarantee that we will die daily
Because life is a pre-requisite for living
And life is death.

"Fake it 'till you make it" is probably the mindset at hand, but I think it just results in more death.
