When You're Gone

The days last too long without you
I’m crazy when you’re gone
I want to drink myself…
To the bottom of the bottle
The one you left behind

No one could drink like you
No one could hide it nearly as well
I, the lonely drunk…
I can’t hide a damn thing
I never could from you

Everything bleeds and I don’t know
What to do with the time
You never would let me in
You never would let me be…
The one you lean on

I remember the days…
The ones before we fell
I remember all the secrets
The laughs, the dreams, all the dreams…
That were secretly ours

Things will never be
The way they were before
Because we are scared my love
Scared of the way we feel
Scared of what might never be

And now… him, he’s always there
He’s come to take you away
Away from me again
Because you’re still wanting
The things he will never give you

This life is not a fairy tale
You and I, we are too tortured
For such things to be true
We’re too damaged
To live that kind of life

Don’t leave me here alone…
My love… because I need…
I need you
And the days last too long
When you are gone...
