There is a You in Utopia

Utopia is closer than you think
we can all be there in just a wink
and in the twinkling of an eye
as it is not in the sky or in the sea
believe me it is in what you can be.

Knock upon the doors of the heart
and gaze upon the wonders therein
as beauty heralding gates part
for Utopia is simply a place within
regardless of creed, race, religion,
sexuality, politics, age, ideals or skin.

A realm where kindness is king
flowing from its universal spring
with value on benevolence
over impudent violence
or ignorant malevolence.

Utopia is closer than you think
in a wave, smile and a wink
where a soul or dream can fly
with wings born of natural glee
from the compassion we can be.
