Wet works

Did I trade the warmth
of a lover for words
Claws wear this black suit well
White cuffs stained
With the last breath of innocence

Brush the sleep from your eyes

Cutting through the quick
This silence is louder
Than any noise I've ever heard

We're all kids
craming through the fence line
Alley cats
Looking for the next hit of jazz
Like it's a joint

Fictional
are the facts we stand on
You can pull my rug any day

Break out the muskets
They're witch hunting

Just how tight
are the bolts
on the bridge
Above me?

Cause it's falling down

These rivers have ran there course
And what a waterfall its been

Embrace me as a beautiful stranger
For my ties of family are faint
And knots are the only thing holding us together
