Two fillings AT 7:30AM

A mirror with a golden frame
brass hook
purple nitrile gloves
white faucet fixtures

gleaming glass cranes
made of light
soar on metal wings
firm feathers

over a wooden church
faded paint peeling
in rolling green farmland
shadows cast past the steeple

beige walls
bamboo chairs in the corner
steel tools taunting

sounded like insects
dying
screaming
race cars
zooming around the track
roaring

special black shades
pina colada gel
needles shoot into my gums
granting comfort

the shiny trey that breathes pain
pine tree tinsel and
wreaths
strewn about

lay me back
NASA
rocket ship
getting ready to take off into orbit

but no "hang in there" kitten poster this time
cotton
on wooden sticks

decay

swallow water specs
splash
where my tonsils use to be
choke

miss the drill
and crack the tooth
in my mind

can't feel my tongue
can't feel my lips
the hurt sounds in the deep

holes
where the rods
shot through flesh

houses tucked in for the night
among hills
mountains

the cold inches up the nerve endings
