Unravel Me....
I know you wish you could understand me
But I’m not meant for you to unravel
Layers upon layers
How badly do you want to know the real me
Centuries
Eternities
Lifetimes have come and gone
And throughout my travels
I never met one man that could unravel me
Pull me close
Just a little
Now that’s too much
Watch me push you away
See this heart of mine
Been through some things
So it knows better than my mind
So it tells me to run away
When you get too close to my heart
Causes less pain that way
But you think you know me
Long to unravel me
Well baby it will take many more lifetimes
Unless you’re my perfect fit
If so
Then strip me layer by layer
Dig deep
Catch the glimpses of that other side
Do you know what makes me smile
Or better yet
What makes me cry
Are you truly determined
To unravel me
Understand the different parts of me
And yet still love me with the same fervor
I choose to give you little glimpses
But it’s up to you to truly unravel me
Bask in all that is me
And never leave my side
Are you my ride or die
If so then I’ll promise to come closer
Fix my mouth to answer yes
To the question
I may have avoided for many years
Will I marry you
Sure I will
If you prove to be the one
That stood by me
That unraveled me
That understood me
That loved me
Unconditionally
If not
Then you’re just another suitor
Among many
That swore they would unravel me
Understand me
Love me
But never did

Our hearts can get broken and chipped so many times. It can be hard to trust others in. I think you expressed this beautifully

You have to be good with yourself before you can be good with someone else. If a man goes in trying to fix you, he’s going to get tired and give up. I see how you feel, but you might lose out on a good one if he has to start in the hole!

I don't need any one to fix me, but what is a breath of fresh air is a man that does his best to figure you out, now that is a keeper... The willingness to even try.
