A Very Different Forest (Haikus) 7.0
(i) Sawing
I have seen saw two
I have seen the scene in saw
A see-saw is seen
(ii) Strange
Unnatural wood
This forest has electrics
Wall sockets not green
(iii) Sci - Fi
Sad: In this setting
Power tools intimidate
Like sci-fi robots
(iv) A Forest Not
A very strange place
A forest with too few trees
Spirit of decay
(v) Fire
Viking boat building
The funeral of a friend
Still the eyes of fire
(vi) Give Me Wood
Nostrils filled; sawdust
Sawing a thick plank in half
I still didn't get wood
(vii) Slaughter
Felled logs stripped and piled
Look like inverted mass graves
These spirits have left

David. This is emotionally invested writing. I had to change my comment after rereading it again. You see with your heart. There are so few of you. Pleased to get to know you.

David my friend, I know how much you enjoy the first and all of the miracles is has inside of it...very sad when we see sections of it destroyed by nature’s wrath or that of mankind...a splendid write indeed
Tons of warm fuzzies for you my friend!!

The raw beauty of trees is lost when we strip her of her forest and make planks and carved implements of her, isn't it? And your eyes see beyond what it is to what it was, creating sadness at the loss. These are wonderful haikus, filled with clever wording and deep insight. This tree hugger is sending you a forest of hugs! :-)

Man has always been the perpetrator for destruction ... So well expressed ... With each saw, there is a tremor of pain and sadness when so much beauty is reconciled to a pile of twigs and dust ....

dearest David such grief
knowing the truth of your words
the forests are sacred
& it shouldn't be this way..
"(vii) Slaughter
Felled logs stripped and piled
Look like inverted mass graves
These spirits have left"
wow the ending really made me sad
where would we be without their beautiful spirits?
powerful write..
love & hugs..

The sacredness of nature is something I hold dearly, and the desecration of your forest for the mere appetite of mankind is disgraceful! I hope that there is but a glimmer of spirit left in these woods after this destruction, as I was really hoping to stroll through this forest with you <3
You really are a master of Haiku's my dear; I feel the sadness of these felled trees weeping with every line.
