Right Now

Right now somebody's sitting by the roadside
In dirty clothes and half a pair of old Nikes
He's got no food or cash, he had a cold night
He's looking for some coins to buy something he can go bite
Right now somebody ain't in his office
Why? Right now he's got a date with the doctor
About to find out that his disease is chronic
And the treatment means a normal life ain't an option

Right now somebody's sitting in prison
For talking 'bout the Bible, being God's witness
Regardless of whether it's a man or his children
They get the same sentence, same position
Right now somebody's planning a funeral
To bury their precious lil daughter so beautiful
A suicidal victim of this system's ruthlessness
Hiding her issues behind a smile so luminous

Right now, someone without both her arms
Or both her legs, only has her hope in God
Right now, someone's letting food rot in his mom's fridge
While another man right now is going through garbage
Coz one man's trash is the next man's treasure
One man's Eden is the next man's desert
One man's "now" is the next man's "forever"
But in this world, "forever" can be gone in a second
