chain smoker (daisy chain)

sometimes i smoke cigarettes
for the poor girl out west
for the little soul trying to rest
for the free wind
carelessness

moments left to caress
i just try to hold onto the tests
forgetting it all
just let it digest
i could have given it to the rest
but i was left in the sandy wind
with these harpsichords…these electronic guitar strings…

who knew you could
“change my world…change the whirl..”
left only to let it swirl
those cigarettes… out the windowsill
all those thoughts and hours
meant to just waste and wade
all the memories just to fade
