Cloven (Tongues of Fire)

Blowing smoke
Vicariously kissing death
Through the filter of a cigarette
Put my mind at ease
In my will to self appease
Fate is such a tease
Drafting vows to cancer
As a contract to disease
Whether of stress or chemical
All things fade in time
Severing the ties
Of this scorched bloodline
Generational curses
We put our souls in hearses
Lighting up another
As to sticks this open sepulcher purses
Life and death of dual fountain
I don't quite have the faith to move this mountain
Heart a tomb where feelings go to die
Conceived of every failure
Womb to every tear we cry
Shed over grounds, incubator to returns
A spark goes around and comes around
Arson on my lips, I love the way a forest burns
My feral tongue un-tamable
My every word is flammable
Arise from the ashes of a life in shambles
Every confession is the ends preamble
Blood like lighter fluid
Strike the flint as a means to begin
This vapor like a fortune teller to punctuate my sin
Up in smoke, my blood is wearing thin
Oblivious observer, careless hearer
Phantoms behind rudders
Capsizing and going under all over again...
