Dust Bunnies

Tucked into forbidden corners
the dust bunnies exist in silence,
collected scraps,
miscellaneous particles
- the secrets we shed.

Eventually,
they can't be ignored.
like mistakes,
that remind us of our imperfections.

We sweep them up,
into the trash,
onto the street.

Only to be carried back to us,
on the wind,
or in the crevice of a shoe.

Unseen,
back through the front door,
gathering again,
transformed
but still present.
