Performance Art Living Installation (II)  Shoe Horn

Authors Note: These performance arts were performed by me today and these poems are a true reflection of the events

Shoe Horn

Time for the second instillation
The beggar had gone bye bye
Another trip through Glasgow City
Time for social experimentation
I positioned myself in front of
A large shoe store window
Again exposing my stumps
I had brought one slipper
And spent time just looking
At people directly and some
Time trying to pull the slipper on
Part one the staring at passers by
Most looked away avoiding eye contact
Some burst out laughing at the sight
Of a man with no legs showing
Interest in a shoe shops wares
Two women walked past and one
Said to the other “Awe that’s a shame”
Two people took photographs
One person asked for a selfie
Part two I struggle to put a new
Looking slipper on my stumps
This time much more laughter
Some for fun and some cruel
Two guys walked by, one said
To the other “What a fuckin idiot!”
One person asked if I needed help
Another person told me it wasn’t
Going to fit either stump
What nobody cared to realise
A man with no legs may still
Have the need to buy shoes
What else are they gonna put
On the end of their prosthetics
