The only color visible is HER
red hair illuminated from within
molten magma just below HER surface
she keeps HER lava-blue eyes masked, (mostly)
as she stands; stark-dullest-greyscale backdrop
witnessing countdown, takeoff, and landing
a crow, mercifully un-ensnared, soars
hard to see through occasional ashes
HER rare smile creases unfamiliar cheeks-
(not knowing that she is my happy thought)
rocket fuel that keeps my engine burning
two limbs outstretched to embrace my landing
curse the clock that counts down her eruption
-little winds and parasites that rode us-
surface-to-air-anti-aircraft-missles
rumblings of seismic activity
