whispers
the small quiet voice within me
went silent one day
it abandoned this lady
left in the dark
i reached with my mind
to the furthest reaches of space
& was left wanting
a forlorn child of the universe
with no one to call to
i wandered the streets alone
viciously tormented
by the voices from without
the kind that press in on the skull
until nothing else is felt
when as a woman in labor
i gave birth to poetry
this is how the celestial
chose to make contact
with intimate conversations
the quiet one & i hold
who in my weakness
made its self known
i write as i am bidden
it leads & i follow
revelations occur daily
within my unveiling
sometimes it's painful
the knowledge of one's heart
who once thought myself alone
without home or hope
with utterances spoken in love
then born into my soul
i carefully scribe them
they take breath
& give life of their own

alone with voices ringing in my skull..
these lines hit me hard..

i really like the prologue/ first stanza

it carries a thought that hangs in the back of my mind like a coat in the the closet waiting to be worn.good line,good thoughts pushing,well penned Raven.
