Forbidden Feelings

It’s not right, I know.
I should have more self-control.
I shouldn’t be thinking of you
Or feeling the way that I do.

But you’re like magic in a desolate place
With a mischievous sweetness in your face
You’ve got me over here drowning in curiosity
I can’t help but wonder if you ever think of me?

Caught in the crossfires
Between knowing both right and wrong
Trying to get you out of my head
Thinking about you all day long

There’s something in the way you looked at me
That has caught me off guard
Your actions said more than your words
I guess forbidden fantasies are prone to die hard

Are you on my mind because I am on yours?
Are you going crazy wondering what to do?
What are the options, if there are any?
I know it’s the wrong time to be falling for you.

I keep telling myself to let you go.
Our timing is off. It’s not meant to be.
Life is often cruel like that
Offering a twist on reality.

If it’s not right, I don’t want it.
Cause if I play the game, I’m playing to keep you.
You are an anomaly worth the time.
I’d rather wait my whole life through.

And if you’re thinking of me
Smile and know that I adore you
But you can keep your hot and cold
Until life gives a real opportunity to pursue.

It’s not right, I know.
And we both have more self-control.
I will stop thinking of you
And feeling the way that I do.

But you are magic in a desolate place
With a mischievous sweetness in your face
Catching my breath after almost drowning in curiosity
I may never know if you ever think of me…
