At Winter's End
Spring:
when all is new, exciting experiences await discovery and warming of the heart begins.
One awakens to wonders, mysteries being presented if one chooses to explore and attempt to solve by gaining knowledge in the pursuit of further understanding.
Summer:
a time for experiencing all that is offered. Time to spend with loved ones and friends. Time to enjoy those discoveries made in the spring. A time to unravel even more mysteries which are revealed by knowledge gained.
Autumn:
the time of preparation. To store away those things that will be needed for a comfortable and enlightened existence in the upcoming winter which begins the end to the procession of seasons.
Winter:
when one can reflect on their time spent and wonder if they could have spent it better.
Maybe in ways that helped their fellow man, improved the earth and all it encompasses, lent more assistance in leaving this glorious planet in better hands than when first discovered.
I lie and ponder these questions as the last light passes through my mind, and I wonder, will I ever again enjoy these seasons, will any part of my consciousness be recycled for use by another as they begin their own journey through the seasons of life.

I like thinking of these things, wonder all the "what ifs" type of things. Makes for interesting conversation also. Like getting other's perspectives also.
Thanks for the visit and comments.

2 seasons huh, perhaps it's the "Smoke Gets In My Eyes", as I exhale. lol
Figure if we keep up the current pace we're on, we can get it down to just one season, the season of "WTF" have we done. :-)
Thanks as always Poe, love your humorous side.

A wonderful use of nature to express such deep introspection. A philosophy I can relate to as my winter season finds me shoveling snow with a soar back...

I can relate to your snow comment. Hard to equate such beauty to such a pain in the...... Nature does have a way of collecting on the debt we owe it.

There's not a single thing on this earth that is not recycled in some manner, thus leading me to wonder about the human soul. Maybe I'm just guessing, but what if................fascinating I feel.
Thank you Lady Crim, always glad to see your ink.

Awww my dear Raven. If indeed the soul is recycled like all else on this plant, and I was just beginning my journey, I would wish a piece of yours to start out on the right foot.
Thank you my precious.

so much wisdom
depth
and affect
in this write
not taking anything
away
from how it is conveyed.
this one is for keeping
at place
close
for it is
pure gold
for life.
living.
thank You
is a small phrase!

I really enjoy the structure and season to season feelings laid out on this write. i really enjoy autumn personally and the first line of winter
"when one can reflect on their time spent and wonder if they could have spent it better."
i think is what stays with me the most after reading this write.
very nice Amorous_tryst

I'm pleased you enjoyed the poem.
Thank you for the visit and comment.
I like your avatar, not many older brick streets left here where I live.
Does the photo hold any particular significance for you?

its a photo i dug up for out history center archives here in Knoxville TN.its from up around the historic fourth neighborhood around the 1930's.it's one of the only roads that still has that same type of cobblestone brick,so when you drive your car over it there's like a crazy buzzing sound.
i guess it spoke to me in a way
