sunflower
sitting among the sunflowers
i quietly scribe poetry
on their petals
written in sunshine
that is emitted from the soul
delicate are the sighs
& whisperings
that spring from this source
like a gentle breeze
to tickle the senses
for them who inhale
my tender musings
while wandering
through these secret fields
i've engraved them
with love & compassion
to bring joy
on the loneliest of days
flowers for the soul
to gift smiles
for those who feel adrift
in a world that doesn't care
in these sunflower gardens
i leave pieces of me
to lead the way home
for any lost in the bramble
a flowery path back
to the sun
