'I Avoid Your Kind'
I avoid your kind
My ideals conflicting
With my odd body
The way I'd like them to match
In your culture, be a catch.
I avoid your kind
Wish to dance with you, but can't
At your festivals
But you would just laugh at me
And call me dull and ugly.
I avoid your kind
I feel inferior
Imperfect body
And my awkward social gait
In regards to clubs and raves.
I avoid your kind
The genetic lottery
Physically, I've lost
How does it feel to bank
On your looks alone for rank?
I avoid your kind
If I neared, I'd be a 'creep'
I don't look like you
If - 'secret admirer'
But since I don't, a stalker.
I avoid your kind
Feeling marginal to the
Culture's notions of
What one might find a beef cake
The result - sexual shame.
I avoid your kind
The pity spotlight on me
Yes me, missing out
All of you, vibrant, alive
Having the time of your lives.
I avoid your kind
You make it look so easy
Socially saavy
And physically beautiful
I try but can't, pitiful.
I avoid your kind
What's mutual attraction?
I may never know
A girl liking me back
'That way', my manhood intact.
I avoid your kind
You say your ex 'downgraded'
Ripped my heart in three
Your aware of your value
Then what chance do I, with you?
I avoid your kind
But I have feelings for you
The ultimate curse
To like one of you when not
Thought of as one of your lot.
I avoid your kind
I've tried to join the movement
Body positive
But damn, it's hard to sink in
When 'beauty' is defined as thin.
I avoid your kind
But hopefully not for life
An old lump of troll
I am! But hope to be a
Bucking Unicorn someday!
