Never Bite A Generous Hand

Never bite the hand that generously feeds you
Because you'll become malnourished or starve
That's sound advice so you should always
Think twice before you cut off your reliable arm
If that hand attached to that arm can't take the pain
It may just have to retract itself and let you go
Then you'll be in a free fall decent of which
Could've been prevented if you'd listened before
Being inconsiderate and selfish causes one to
Lose out on an abundance of blessings
Some seem to have a difficult time discerning this
So they have to be taught a painful lesson
Many seem to never fully appreciate a water well
Until that well is depleted and becomes bone dry
Then as they start to suffer the effects of dehydration
They at that point are forced to open their eyes
Guess it's inevitable that some will have to travel
Down that two lane rough and rugged path
Before the light bulb in their minds becomes illuminated
As they smarten up and begin to comprehend the math
Sometimes tough love is the only viable option
 In this here game that we call life
When you have to sit back and relax
While folks deal with their self inflicted strife
