Empty

I'm just another set of empty bones waiting to crack
another pair of  hallow eyes sunken and bruised
Sallow and gaunt
Your ghastly finger tips still haunt my aching chest
A Phantom grip fraying my heart
Shadowed Handprints still caress my face
Now I'm stuck in this wasteland
Gray and full of decay
I wondered in deeper following your voice
You took my hand and whispered "you'll be just fine"
But now I'm lost in my head, I'm trying to find you here
Stuck in a rut, withering away, one foot in a grave the other sinking in a swamp of my overwhelming thoughts
You and I were waiting for the stars to align but now I'm drifting and can't find a sign
I see your face, just an apparition
A trick of light, a timing just not right
A temptation begging for a chase
You whispered "give it a chance, you can find your place
Take my hand I'll keep you safe"
Pull me closer, I don't mean to be so cynical but your bewitching lull is making this endeavor so goddamn critical.
