Image for the poem Midnight

Midnight

This hallway was louder than the last
The floorboards creaking could ruin the plans
He gripped on to his knife and pull on his mask

Creeping closer
Heartbeat thumping
Sounding like thunder

Soon this would become someone's worst nightmare
Bound and gagged
Alone and hopeless
At the will of a psychopath
With no care
 of life or death

All flesh was the same to him
Just a canvas
 ready paint
In any image he saw fit

I will Deconstruct the deepest parts of you
Opening your flesh to free the sins in you

It's what you need
It's what they told me to do
The voices inside
must have an eye in you

I'm sorry this had to happen to you
But the voices control me
And there's nothing I can do
Once they take a fancy to you
It's just a matter of time
Before they send me looking for you

To peel the skin back
and look deep inside of you

With each new layer I learn more
All the secrets you thought would die with you

Now they're mine to hold on to so dear
Like the many souls I carry
Stolen throughout all the years
