eternity's song
in my defining hour
you found me lacking
a child with no song
on the stage of life
humming along to other's tunes
without one of my own
I was bereft & barefoot
navigating minefields
treacherous is the road
when you follow
where others lead
then you came
placed a melody in my heart
a secret one just for me
delicate notes I could dance to
a ballet for the soul
as I pirouette through the void
the darkness no longer had affect
& I was free to sing a song of my own

The first and last lines say it all..... in my defining hour..... I was free to sing my own song. This is an excellent write. Raven you really do have a way of expressing yourself.

Man - I felt this one - I can't remember who taught me the song of my own maybe nobody, maybe I just got pissed off following :-)
