Anxiety

I'm usually okay
And
By okay
What I mean to say is:
I usually smile
When I feel the world is caving
Into my lungs
And
Debilitating
My
B R E A T H I N G
...
By any other name
It does taste
As bitter
It's the limb
That is unable to be severed
Continuously fighting
To take the wheel
From my coherent mind:
An eclipse
Of rationality
And
A tsunami
Of doubt
And
Darkness
...
No matter the depth of water
Drowning
Is
Drowning
And
Sitting from the boat
Whilst telling those submerged
To stand
Is senseless
And
Disheartening
And
Cruel
...
The straw
Seemingly bearable
To you
Is misleading
For it could crush
The one that carries
The weight of the walls
Built to hide
The internal war
That takes place
Inside
Daily
 ...
It is a small part of me
That for many years
Remained nameless
From my lips
But now
I call it out
To remove its power:
To divide
And
Conquer
Because I know
I don't walk alone
...
Any given day
May appear
A mountain
But
I WILL RISE
And
Anxiety:
The hungry bear
That stalks my ascension
Will
Never
Win
Or prevent me
From reaching the top
So I breathe
And
Take one step at a time
And
Smile
Even when I feel
The world is caving in
