Dove

Tell me that this was in the past
do you even know our heritage and magnificent history
I thought not, fuck you and your hypocrisy
you are right here yet you forgot about us all
cause your pockets got swollen, overflowing
they constantly remind you of who you are, just another token
take a NYC number four train ride to Utica Avenue
better yet here is a lifetime metro card for your sellout ass
they have bought your silence inked in the blood of darkies
sign your values, dignity, pride, and self respect away

Christianity always got you accepting their abuses
scrubbing and rubbing the blackness off the outside
bleaching and dyeing you dirty white on the inside
Islam got you willfully ignorant and arrogant ignoring what's truthfully right for Allah false truths are right

Tell me now that these events will be all in the past
when there another incident like Flint Michigan
after another police shooting similar to Philando Castile
after the police murder another Mike Brown

I bet you don't even remember Aiyana Jones
as you stand locking arms with Jerry Jones
using the flag pole to sodomize his sambos, y'all his Abna Louima's

What are you thinking of as you watch your teenagers?
tasting the rainbow, while sipping Arizona ice tea on NFL Sunday
Today's marquee match ups are Trayvon Martin's versus George Zimmerman's
do you tell them to get on their knees and pray it away, pleading heaven help us.
Should I clean your clock to help you remember Sean Bell

Amadou Diallo, can you see his majestic black face
or do you look pass his blackness and say white was right
stand for what, what a fucking disgrace
I stand fist raised shouting in my forefather's tongue
Yoruba Nation screaming from the top of my lungs
"Ireje nibikibi ni a irokeke ewu si idajo nibi gbogbo"
(Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere)
I take a knee because Dove can't make me the other white meat
No matter how hard I scrub myself or how they try to bleach me

I look in my mirrors day and night, night and day 24/7/365
and I still see a most beloved unapologetic African king.

Me!
Ya feel me!
