the poetry tree
sunlit words
filter their way
through the dappled leaves
of the poetry tree
adorned by the foliage of life
each leaf a unique poetic voice
reciting truth in verse
predestined
before time began
to whisper the secrets
of the universe
with delicate hushed tones
they awaken
a world that slumbers
salve the sleeping ones eyes
so they may see
& clears the cotton
from the deaf ones ears
so they may hear
the tree is rooted in wisdom
& is nourished
from the mouth of gods
who sprinkle inspiration
on the tree & its buds
all the leaves sing in unison
with knowledge gained
they recount the song of ages
the winds of fate blow
on the poetry tree
& gently carry away seeds
to be planted in the minds
of future poets
where they are cared for in hope
that a soul might be enlightened
so one day there will be a forest
of these magnificent trees

this is wonderful - I am just learning to engage with and enjoy the forest and nature - I wish I had written this - it says things I feel and would want to say :-)
