Mabon Moon

Indian Summer burns like fire across the sky
Unseasonably warm till the rains dampen the flames
The Mabon breeze battles fiercely with Summer's heat
Together raking leaves off of the slumbered trees
Before releasing their tired grip all green turns into red
As I fall into a sea of leaves I fear I've lost the light within
When darkness casts her shadow across the Harvest Moon
My Autumn gray strips away the color foolish youth once granted me
While her Spring sun rises high my Sol sets within this chilled body
My pawns are gone as my knight fights with the courage of futility
No checkmating between her Equinox and mine can ever be
For I have but the desolation Winter brings to bring me to an end
and as her light begins to fade away I can see I've lost a friend
