A little pain
He stares at the pictures
Smiles on photographs
Just a little boy
Walking his mother down the isle
Poorer or the richer
Fake smiles and laughs
Boy never knew joy
Never been a child
Momma say it's ok
He lay hands to the boy
Bruises on his little frame
Not the same today
Can't find joy
Kids call him names
Deep
Down
I see you
I
Used
To
Be
You
You will make it through
Just a little pain
Just a little pain
Almost faded, this one
Standing next to a once friend
Played with him everyday
Looking happy the two of them
Good times gone
School day ends
He lays beaten in the worst way
Turned against, couldn't win
Go home bloody
Wash away the hurt
Deal the best you can
Never was your buddy
Changing his shirt
Thinking it'll change when he's a man
Just a little pain
Just a little pain
Ah, the sun in this one
Teenage summer years
The swing she sat in
Hair sun streaked gold
Everyday fun, fun, fun
He healed her cause for tears
Fall came and sat in
By winter she was cold
The lake house creaking
Two voices say
"He can't ever know"
Face freezing leaking
He just walked away
That year there was no snow
Just a little pain
Old man rocking on the front porch
Looking at pictures of how he became
Was a long road, but he carried the torch
Hand on his chest
Just a little pain
Smiles on photographs
Just a little boy
Walking his mother down the isle
Poorer or the richer
Fake smiles and laughs
Boy never knew joy
Never been a child
Momma say it's ok
He lay hands to the boy
Bruises on his little frame
