Two for One
Musing:
Came to this site, by way of stumbling through Googled words.
Read a few poems and thought, no, not my cup of tea.
Joined anyhow, threw down a few words out of giddiness and figured I'd move on.
Read a few more, found some that actually spoke to me.
Commented.
Contemplated.
Felt a breath of fresh air.
Wrote a few more poems.
Met some beautiful souls.
Now enlightened, wrote more still.
A mind stretched, never to be the same again.
A new world now opened.
An enjoyment, that if lost, would leave a deep empty void.
Turned out to be a haphazard yet life changing event.
Thank You all, Poets/Poetesses.
Epitaph:
Have a brother-in-law
Hard headed
Opinioned
Mind somewhat closed
Kind yet hard
Still like him though
Says I'm too easy
Soft
Too quick to forgive and forget
Told him to write that on a piece of paper
Lay it upon my dead body before they burn me
Would like to take that with me

For a long long time I thought that writing (especially poetry) was something other people did. Other people who read Wuthering Heights when they were nine and kept journals through their teen years. Of course, it ain't like that is it. It's not fenced of land. Although...still feel like a trespasser at there times? Not sure whether that feeling will ever leave me entirely. I love the epitaph! The description of your bro in law. 'Kind yet hard.' Really cool post :)

The last book I read was years ago. Poems I've read by authors other than here, you could put in a thimble and still have room for your thumb. But, I do enjoy writing, although I didn't know it until just a few months ago. Now, they will have to pry my pen from my cold, dead, fingers. And that's what I like about this site, young and old alike are here along with a plethora of poems and prose to satisfy most any taste. New ways of thinking presented and old beliefs reinforced. Poets and poetess from beginners to seasoned writers. All within the peck of the keyboard or touch of hand held device. I'm a keyboard person. Hate phones that are smarter than I. Keep puttin' it down and hang around, for the site needs your talent. Thanks for the visit and comment. It's much appreciated.
