America has a problem,
the media is corporate funded,
the politicians are corporate funded,
and yet the corporations are people funded,
by us,
and none of that is going to change
until we realize that every dollar we spend
is a vote
and we -

Where the streets are lined with money
and the money is so clean you can eat off it.

In America ~

America loves to sterilize,
loves to wipe clean thoughts of opposition,
distraction turned to industry in dystopic fashion.
Why rise up when you can sit down?
This couch built of the memories of the country that could have been,
society succumbed to comfort
numbed into lethargia synthesized by false nostalgias.

Where are the brave in this new world?
The land of the setting sun,
where democracy lost to oligarchy,
half mast eyelids setting over once bright eyes,
dwelling among the shadows cast over their landscape
heads upturned, thoughts castrated by cloudscapes overhead
far out of reach,
they notice not the darkness they dwell in for they’ve never seen the dawn.

Overfed, underread, overworked, undereducated,
the land not of misplaced passions but of passion misplaced.
There is only so much oxygen to breathe under the glass dome marked freedom,
under which lies the effigy of liberty sitting pretty in her dress
stained green with the blood of the overworked dollar,
while sterling white houses filled with the nation’s replete
face a monument to its holy father,
a phallus erected to the fallacy of personal autonomy,
where lay the lie laid by laws that govern their independence.

Freedom, they say, isn’t free.
But it doesn’t seem to cost anything
if you’re rich enough to afford it -

Land of the free, home of the brave,

Yes, America!
Where the streets are lined with money
and the money is so clean you can eat off it.
Nothing is stronger than the American dollar ~

Open your eyes to see the warmongering
the repackaged obsession with conquering,
time to start pondering why politicians are squandering
education money to satisfy their hankering
for splattering bodies by scattering bombs,
battering nations to be shattering stability,

then walk in swaggering and capturing resources
while we recline on false senses of security,
watching our minds decline and fade into obscurity
from fears of land mines and bullets,
perpetually spewed lies from televised pulpits
succeeding in feeding us misleading information
impeding our progress with utter fabrications.

the illusion of immediate change deranges us
rearranges our priorities in strange ways
and makes us exchange our views to get shortchanged,

meanwhile the media autocracy looms over us monstrously
a policy of dishonesty to get us to vote for oligarchy
but beyond planned calamity and hypocrisy lies democracy
use it, it’s the derision of precision from division,
what progressive condition could you envision
by all standing in the same position -

~ False reports have been made that America
is not the greatest place on earth
America is in fact the land of the free
home of the brave
these reports are false
these reports are false ~

Follow your ambitions and drive an inquisition
by forming a coalition to debate the opposition,
an incision of your own volition brought to fruition,

fuck demolition, use cognition as your ammunition
drop your inhibitions, put on an exhibition to express your contrition,

proclaim your admonition against superstition,
call out predispositions to use religion to make decisions,
question why modernism is met with skepticism
and scientific exploration is labeled hedonism,

perform an exorcism on the fetishism of irrationalism,
don't submit the commercialism of populism,
flow to the rhythm of altruism grounded in humanism,

to take back power from those who feel no remorse
money hungry egoists endorsed by big business,
this legalized bribery from suits called lobbyists,

meanwhile lies are spread by both sides of the news
they think we're fools but we're not amused
with this persistent media droning in from all sides
endless fear mongering aimed at our eyes,

no salvation from stagnation caused by the starvation of thought,
consider the persistent defamation of those promoting exploration of notions
unrelated to violence, planning retaliations of peace
how those are the ones that always manage to fade and disappear,
as though education and unity were the system’s biggest fears,

take back your mind to realize in art there is truth
it's labeled fiction so it has the time to reach you
not teach you but provide tools to create your own views
accept the power of expression and we can relay some truth,
spread the gift of knowledge and the future is ours to lose -
