Halflife
It feels familiar
Twinge, regret--
Rain on skin
Bare and open
I peel back layers
Festering beneath
Memories, memories
Brooding razor-teeth
Ravishing
Damaging
I know-
I live quietly
Not quite alive...
Twinge, regret--
Rain on skin
Bare and open
I peel back layers
Festering beneath
Memories, memories
Brooding razor-teeth
Ravishing
Damaging
I know-
I live quietly
Not quite alive...

Short but packing one helluva punch. Nice language and imagery. That ending though; quite superb.

Glad you liked that ending, I'll admit I actually wrote the ending and then wrote the poem around it, thanks for reading and leaving your thoughts! ~anonshadow
