Mary Had...
Mary had a little…
mark on her face.
It bothered her so...
She never wanted to leave her place.
In her mind..
she would travel into space.
She felt out there
at least, she’d be safe...
From worrying
‘bout what others think…
About a year goes bye
By, n' by,
Mary still feels like an outcast...
She decides she’d purchase a mask
hoping to improve her confidence at last!…
Except there was a little problem
that arose...
To Mary the problem was huge
I suppose.
Her newly bought
“concealment device”
Got chewed full of holes
by a pack of mice!
Mary was so upset
her eyes were full of fire!
“What do I do?” she queried
she felt situation was getting dire...
Falling fast asleep that night
she began to dream…
She hears a voice speaking
inside her head, and it calmly says:
“Your reality isn’t nearly as bad
as it may seem”
“So please don’t discard the words
in this little dream..."
In the morning as she awoke,
she recalls words the voice had spoke
Suddenly, she’s inclined to look
at herself in the mirror
To her surprise,
that mark is gone, and her skin
is so much clearer! The sight
cheered her...
Mary had a little…
problem with a mark on her face...
Today she’s more happy,
and no longer needs the solace
she once sought in space...

Thanks bro. This was actually inspired a long time ago by a lady who asked me if I knew of a way to encourage a child she knew that was always afraid of what others thought about her because she was different... I just kinda thought of the nurses rhyme Mary had a little lamb, n boom, this cane out lol...

This is super special, because I myself have felt the ridicule of nasty people and their comments. Love this. Its full of emotion for me. Touched. <3

Well done, Poetic One. I enjoyed reading this.
We do tend to blow things out of proportion, and lose sight of our blessings. But such is being human.

Deep and wise

Coming from you - no surprise.
I LOVE that, Poe!
