I Forgot my Damn Watch This Morning

Rushing out the door
Late as usual
Got caught up in morning chaos
Job stuff you just have to do in a quiet place
The streets give no cover
It's a city of noise, sirens and barking

I wear a watch
I love wearing them
Have collected vintage and modern watches for years
My collection is eclectic and cool
To forget to wear a watch is troubling
It means a whole day of looking at my phone
Which I'm doing too much already for work
You get the story. same old same old

I feel naked without a watch
A man's only real jewelry
No pinkie rings or bracelets for this bloke
This isn't the 1980's you know
Quartz is easy
A mechanical watch better
I love winding my watch
Old school comfort not to be traded Mister
