First, last, forever?
First date
Nerves were electricity
Outside the..station
Ran in too fast, hugged you
like I've never hugged before
'My God, you really are beautiful'
He laughed, and then...
And then, he
took my hand and
we strolled through
the streets, silently
I broke the ice
(Hoping full well
I never broke his heart)
We crossed the road
went straight into the park
laughing at squirrels
laughing at the situation
We'd met online and
then for real and it was
ecstasy like I'd never known.
We found a bench
having explored a while
and then sat, asses wet
hearts dampened by the
bliss of unity
Never once letting go of
each other's hands
'You're smiling'
I nodded
'I am indeed
You make me so happy'
Cut short by misunderstanding
He wanted to get out of the sun
I thought he wanted to leave,
but we laughed and I kissed him
and felt him growl in my ear
Cautious
'How was that?'
I replied with sounds
because words were too much
I'd never met someone quite so
Beautiful, so otherworldly, so
protective.
I never wanted to leave
and I still don't.
Dear you, I wish
You were here
I wish distance
didn't rip my
soul in two
For now
I hang on
to the memories
of my first date
Whilst praying for a
second.
