Hope started fading as I became numb
The day eventually turned into night

The wind blew chills as my mind played games
Forsaking the union of both our names
My defeat gave way to desolate sorrow

I could feel it coming and I had no control
A million heart breaks can exhaust the soul
The tears started streaming from my eyes

I’m so tired of searching until I am breathless
The ups. The downs. The agony, it’s deathless
I’m so tired of smiling through all the pain
Expecting things to change but they always remain
I’m tired of seeing the good through the bad
How do you let go of someone you never really had?
Red fades to black and mascara bleeds down my face
One by one, memories of you in my mind retrace
And I realize I am such a fool for ever believing
Words are always the sweetest when they’re deceiving
If you weren’t ready, you should’ve just said it
Instead of pretending that I just misread shit
It is the ones like you that hurt the very most
One hit of the hope you sell can cause an overdose
Reality or perception – Hey, you roll the dice!
While fairy tale illusions create this fool’s paradise
