It wasn't yesterday

Though you wouldn't
be there now

Yet similarities would exist
In many

I'd dare not go look;
Places, some changed,
but many remain as if
yesterday not yesteryear

I promised
I'm still delivering on that

The rush felt as you appeared
time and again
I'll never forget how you
made me feel

Smiling excited it was
It is, even as I recall now

Foundations made
over the hours together

Unbreakable friendship forged
though some might find
it a peculiar friendship
but we know different

Because it was only ever
about me & you building a
safe haven so the future me
& you will find peace in tranquil
embraced togetherness

I don't see a problem with
future togetherness at all

I'm looking forward to it
