[ UH ] Universe House III

    
I wish to write a poem  
about the night I carried you  
across the threshold of  
our Universe Home  
   
where you could finally
settle down in a place
we'd call our own  
   
Instead, I'm out at sea  
   
adrift in the thundering  
storm of my century  
   
wondering why God above  
meant for Us to be  
this way  
   
Manifesting Destiny  
tomorrow and today    
lately neither seems    
in the palm of my hand  
   
Existing only in dreams  
---calm waters, dry land  
the woman I Love  
   
I don't claim to understand  
if these tribulations were planned;   
the reason escapes me  
   
My only hope?    
   
Someday I'll come Home  
worthy
