The Dark Half   - Inspired by DarkEnchantress (Comment)

You looked at me on the subway
You smiled
I smiled
Your smile was genuine
Mine was a grimace
You said hi
I too said hi
You were being friendly
I was thinking ‘how dare you’
‘How dare you even speak to me,
Who the fuck do you think you are?’
I punched him to the floor
And stomped him to death
Then turned to face the other four
Passengers still left in the carriage
I screamed showing them my war face
All four cowered, just as they should
I pulled out my blade
Waved it in their faces
“I am considering killing you all.”
I mused, smiling like a Cheshire cat
I then picked up the elderly lady
Off the seat I drove my knife
Upwards through her chin turning it
Pulling it out and thrusting it through
Ribs into her heart she slumped back
‘Well that’s her, deadish.’ I thought
The other three started to panic
Running around like rats in a trap
“Sit the fuck down or die!”
I roared like a certifiable madman
The man in the suit looked at me
That was, clearly, his first mistake
He got on his knees and begged
And begged for his pathetic life
“Please don’t kill me I’ve got children.”
He spoke to me like I gave a shit
I used to kill street beggars for sport
I said, “Tell you what, you blow me
And I’ll let you live.” I unzipped my fly
He shuffled on his knees towards me
With speed and accuracy I slit his throat
He shook and thrashed around
Drenching his smart suit red
And he fell back frothing and gurgling
You could now cut the silence
With a sharp knife, just as well
I had brought one to the party
The train drew up at my stop
I smiled at the two survivors
And confidently stepped off the train
Standing on to the platform
I could hear them both sobbing
I considered going back to finish
But I was now just bored
I reflected on the two that
That I had allowed to live
‘How lucky they were.’
They didn’t get to see
My dark side.’
