[ FS ] A Man Overboard ..... Again

        
Days in a Pirate's life  
lap and splash together  
in discontented discontinuity       
when he has been out to sea        
for what seems Eternity        
         
And in having sailed far too many        
nautical miles along the Meridian  
of Actuality and Fantasy        
the long haired Mermaid        
in his heat-stroked visions            
becomes as good as real,    
Mate          
         
Stiff as wood planking          
stretching his vessel's expanse       
under his commanding hand        
he'd d'erectly derelict in duty  
walk off straight into the ocean        
if only for the chance to swim        
into the depths of her wild eyes;        
    
and as he tries hard not to fall          
even further for that beauty  
of a siren eluding his grasp  
        
hands aching to brush away  
hair cling to each salted areola  
with tender modesty       
         
becomes a man overboard        
lost in a maelstrom, waves        
thunderously pounding his flesh          
sea legs useless as he can  
tread water no more        
         
begging heavenly constellations        
and all manner of gods heathen  
for rescue, sparing the agony        
of living without her          
         
Eyes opening  
        
waterlogged   
 
pulverized body ashore       
         
he recalls a beautiful dream;  
she hauling him ashore limp and lifeless         
before straddling him with heaving chest          
compression after compression .        
         
taking his pain away       
         
restarting his heart        
         
and          
         
breathing him alive
