Image for the poem Mirror Mistress

Mirror Mistress

Silver trails when the muzak starts
Tears shed as the train departs
She will miss him and his strictest ways
The satisfaction of their better days

She might prevail, stepping tall
She might fail, a graceful fall
Her own Mistress in the mirror
Assuring her there's naught to fear.
