Slow August

Slow dawn climbing trees
morning breezes silent as light,
whisper through  rows of stubble
gold, metalic,cold slow light .

Nestlings crowd  wicker baskets,
parents take an early search before
siblings wake, demanding grubs.
the whole day through.

Slow, evening takes
the light, a gentle breeze
blows away clouds,dark
with threats of rain.

 August,slow
waits September fruits and frost .
