What Have I Done
The stars in my eyes
I see twinkling in hers
Though my own have grown dim
Mine are littered full of broken fragments
Of college parties
And late nights skinny dipping
In an obscure creek somewhere
Holding the hand of a pretty girl I just met
As we ease out into the water
Feeling this humid midnight air on our skin
I'm still aching for a better view
Still burning for a passionate touch
Looking for adventure where all I see is home
I keep comparing myself to my classmates
Seeing them starting back college
And here I am feeling years older
Stuck doing the very thing
I swore I would never do
I see twinkling in hers
Though my own have grown dim
Mine are littered full of broken fragments
Of college parties
And late nights skinny dipping
In an obscure creek somewhere
Holding the hand of a pretty girl I just met
As we ease out into the water
Feeling this humid midnight air on our skin
I'm still aching for a better view
Still burning for a passionate touch
Looking for adventure where all I see is home
I keep comparing myself to my classmates
Seeing them starting back college
And here I am feeling years older
Stuck doing the very thing
I swore I would never do
