Water

Sometimes on display,
but often hidden
just below rhe surface

it surges with energy
neither created
nor destroyed

always filtering, renewing,
and dissolving
until it returns to the mass

sustaining life
but at the same time
facilitating death

it's ebb and flow are constant,
perpetual violence
that is also soothing

neither good nor bad,
right or wrong
it simply "is"

sometimes seems
out of reach and
it's just beneath the surface
