On The Edge { Chapter 14}

Quick Note: I apologize for EXTREMELY long wait for this next chapter, due to personal problems going on in my life and my work so I've been distracted lately so once again I am sorry and I will get back on track and finish the last few chapters to this series till then please wait patiently for the next chapter. - Ms. Jackson

Eric looked at his clock next to him as it said: 2:35 PM
He exhaled sharply after thinking about the bad dream that he had then suddenly he heard a knock at his door so as got out of bed and walked down stairs to then check out the window to see who it was and it was Kells.
He rolled his eyes as he mumbled to himself "of all the people to come and knock on my door..." He groaned as he opened the door to see Kells smiling at him as she said " well I see you stayed undressed for me..." She said as she noticed that he only had on boxers since it was hot. He noticed as he said " oh shit sorry Kells, I was hot--" then Kells cuts him off with " I know you are..." she then winked at him as he rolled his eyes and said " ugh what do you want Kells?" Kells smiled as she said " well I came by to tell you that Bessie wants to invite you over for lunch..." Eric looked at her confused as he asked " just me and her?"
Kells laughed and said " oh god no! Me and her foster kids are gonna be there as well"
Eric then mumbled " like that's any better..." Kells then said " I heard that, now if I were you I wouldn't be so nasty with me since I am the mother of your child..."
Eric then said " yeah don't remind me"
Kells laughed as she said " so are you coming or not?"
Eric then said " yeah, just give me a minute I gotta get dressed..."
Kells then said " ok, can I come in?"
Eric at first hesitated as Kells said " relax, I'm not gonna do nothin'!!"
Eric thought maybe she is really trying to just be friends so he sighs as he says " ok fine..."
Eric lets her inside and closes the door as he runs upstairs to get dressed.
Kells walks around his living room as she sees that he has put some of his pictures of his family up on the wall and shelf above
his fireplace. She then notices a blue and black rosary laying near a picture of an older woman and next to that picture was a prayer stone in Spanish.She smiled as she looked at the rosary then noticed it said something on the back of the cross as it said " Forever in my heart..."
She then heard foot steps coming down the stairs as she turned around and saw Eric wearing a short sleeve black v-neck with black jeans as he said " ok, ready?"
Kells smiled and said " ready" as they left his house and went to Bessie's.
As they entered inside the kids were all sitting at the table as there was mash potatoes and gravy, steak, corn, corn bread, and rice all sitting on the table.
Bessie had on a long sleeve pink flower print dress with red flats on and her hair up in a bun. She saw Eric and smiled as she said " Eric!, I'm glad you were able to make it!"
Kells glared at Bessie in jealousy as she noticed she was a little too happy to see him then she looked back at Eric as Eric smiled and said " ah well, I couldn't pass up on knowing how good of a cook are you" he said as he smiled kindly at her. Bessie laughed as she said " come on, sit down!" as Eric was siting down Kells quickly grabbed a seat next to him, Eric looked at Kells in such annoyance as he stared at her with daggers. She just smiled innocently pretending that she wasn't doing anything wrong.
Eric just sat down as he got his food and so did Kells and everyone else as they started eating. Bessie noticed everyone except for Chance siting at the table she then asked everyone " where is Chance?" and just as she said that Chance came down the stairs while holding a bloody tissue to his nose as he sat down at the table Bessie noticed him and said " oh my god!, baby what happened!?" before Chance could say anything Kells butted in as she said " yeah Chance what did happen?" as she glared at Chance thinking he'd snitch on her. Chance, who was officially scared of her said " uh- I-I got hit with a door earlier!" Bessie looked at him confused as she said " you sure?" Chance said " I'm sure!".
Bessie just looked at him unsure as she said " well we should take you to the doctor later to make sure your nose isn't broken"
Chance just nodded as he then caught eye contact with Kells as she stared at him with such intensity, scaring him enough to look down and eat his food.
Kells didn't take her eyes off of him for a few more seconds then she went back to eating her food.
Bessie then turned her attention to Eric as she said " so mr. writer how is that new book coming?" Eric laughed as he said " well, so far I haven't written much since I haven't been all that inspired to write..."
Then Bessie asked " What's it supposed to be about?"
Eric then says " it's basically about this girl who falls for this guy who is a criminal, but I haven't really worked out all the kinks yet..."
Bessie smiled as she said " well what exactly does inspires you?"
Eric took a bite of his food as he shrug his shoulders unsurely and said " umm... I'm not sure... a number of things could inspire me honestly I just come up with it as it comes along..." He said as he laughed lightly.
Kells glared at Bessie in jealousy as she ate her food slowly while trying her best to not show she was phased by her aunt's obvious innocent flirting with Eric.
As they were eating Kells then said "so Eric you work from your home a lot you don't have like an office or something to go to?" she said trying to sound nonchalant, but all it did was annoy Eric since he picked up on what she was doing so he just said " I have one in New York..." Kells raised her eyebrow as she asked " so why did you come out here?" Eric then said " to be able to focus I don't need to work near my birthplace I just have to contact my publisher by the time I'm done and I'll fly out to New York and we'll see if it'll get published".They all went back to eating till they finished their meal, Eric thanked Bessie for inviting him over and giving him such a wonderful meal as he was about to leave Kells was gonna walk with him before he could say anything she smiles innocently and says " here let me walk you out" and insists on walking him home. Eric couldn't do anything since they were barely leaving Bessie's house so it would look suspicious if he said no. As he they walked to this door step Kells was about to let herself in till Eric stopped her and said " no, I don't think so" Kells looked at him confused and said " why not?" Eric then said " easy, because don't like you like that!" Kells laughed and said " you're joking right?" Eric then said " no I'm not, Kells just because you're carrying our baby doesn't mean shit ok?" Kells glared him and said " look you better take responsibility!" Eric then said " by how?! Kells we have nothing going on between us! just be happy that I'm willing take care of our child! other than that I don't want a relationship!" Kells then said " so what you sayin' am I just some cheap piece of meat you tapped and you got bored then you decided you don't want any part of!?!" Eric realized she was getting too loud outside so he grabbed her arm and pulled her as he said " ok if you're gonna be loud get your ass inside!" as he took her inside so they could talk. He closed the door behind him and said " now you can talk"
Kells folded her arms as she says " oh now I need fucking permission?!" Eric then said " oh my god! I meant you can talk now because your ass was being too damn loud outside!" Kells put her hands up and said " ooo sorry IS THIS BETTER?! HOW ABOUT THIS?! AM I TOO LOUD NOW?!" Eric rolled his eyes as he said " God, can you please calm down!" Kells yelled " HELL NO I WONT CALM DOWN! YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE! NOT TILL YOU GIVE ME A FUCKING REASON WHY I'M NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU!?!" Eric then said " I didn't say you weren't good enough, I just said I didn't want to be with you. You took it like that" Kells then yelled " WELL HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO TAKE IT ERIC?!? TELL ME?! HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO TAKE IT?!" Eric got irritated and yelled " I don't know!" Kells then yelled " HELL YEAH YOU DONT FUCKING KNOW!! FUCK YOU MOTHER FUCKER!" Eric gritted his teeth as he glared as he grabbed her and pinned her against the wall and said " SHUT UP!! SHUT THE HELL UP!! IM SO FUCKING TIRED OF YOUR CRAZY ASS GIVING ME THIS SHIT!" Kells stared into his eyes then suddenly she started try and kiss his lips roughly, but Eric wasn't having it as he turned his and and was yelling " no! No! No! No Kells! Stop!" Kells smiled as she said " come on why can't we just fuck this one time?"
Eric glared at her and said " easy, you're crazy and you're just not the one for me so all you are to me is the mother of my child" he let her out of his grip slowly as Kells began cry.
Eric rolled his eyes as he said " Kells come on stop crying" Kells then snapped at him and yelled " NO SCREW YOU! I FUCKING HATE YOU!"
Eric just looked at her as he said " come on Kells, stop..." Kells sniffled as she looked at him with watery eyes while wiping the tears away he sighed and said " Look Kells, I said I would help you take care of our baby isn't that enough? I don't want to be with you like that so please just understand that..." Kells just stayed silent as Eric went to the door and opened it and said " please leave" Kells nodded and walked out as Eric shut the door and watched from the window to see Kells walking back to her house.
Eric just sighed and shook his head while rubbing his eyes as he said to himself " God, what the hell did I get myself into?"
Meanwhile at Kells' home she walked through the door as Bessie noticed she looked upset and said " Kells are you ok?" Kells rolled her eyes and said " I'm fine Bessie leave me alone!"
she yelled out while going upstairs to her room where she went to lay on her bed and cry then said quietly said to herself " he will regret everything he did".
