Minotaur Mentis

Can hear the huffing of his breath
His hooves seeking purchase
Horns scraping grooves
Furrowing this labyrinth's walls
His song one of fury and exquisite rage

I can stay two steps ahead
His breath burning down my back
No shelter found in these convoluted halls
I grope towards the maze's egress
Praying for some peace
But slipping, always slipping,
Before I gain release,
