you & heroin dreams
i dreamed of you
we were in a mental hospital
that at times turned into a jail
i was busy trying to apply makeup
which is odd because
i don't wear it anymore
you entered in a drunken state
slurring your words
i said "what's wrong?"
you stated you didn't know
with a wink in your eye
you said "that nurse Connie
was trying to help you figure that out,
they asked if you masturbated enough"
suddenly you were behind me
with a bump to my bum
you laughed & said "plenty"
i never realized how tall you were
i seemed tiny in your embrace
in the jail there was a bull dyke
holding the most sexy preggie contest
though none appeared pregnant
they had narrowed it down to two
& asked my opinion
i chose the most sexy one
a fight broke out between me & the dyke
who eventually backed down
the nurse came in & told us all to settle down
suddenly i was alone in the room
i could hear you talking
i looked over the wall
saw you drinking & sexing up
the most beautiful preggie
i said "oh we have liquor here?"
the girl also had heroin
i said "i want some"
she replied "give me a minute"
i looked out & noticed we were on the streets
i realized we were free to leave
before awakening i remember
taking a last longing glance at the heroin

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who dreams vividly and in strange detail. It all rambled on like disjointed film clips and that ending brought it all together. The fight never ends, does it, my beautiful Dark Angel?

You betcha, Brenda, I took a last longing glance at the heroin, never went back to it. Actially it was easier to quit than the speed I was shooting into my veins. I like this poem big time.
