In the Hall Two People did Laugh

I looked around expecting fire,
Saw none and wasn't scared by half;
Expected a funeral pyre,
In the hall two people did laugh.

A man and woman I could tell,
She sounded like a newborn calf;
He muttered a name, said, do tell,
In the hall two people did laugh.
