Rising With the Sun

Let the sunlight peak within the cracks and emerge
From the deep, dark shadows of the dusk from
The night before. Darling, let it force and urge
You out of bed as you face the day. Let it numb
The sleep that would not arrive as you lay tossing
And turning in your messy bed. The dry drought
Is forgotten. It is a new bridge you will be crossing
Over and into another day. Let us forget about
Mistakes and errors you already made because
The bright sun will erase them all just like that.
