THOSE HANDS
(Based on scene in movIe "Titanic" when Jack Dawson shows Rose a drawing done in Paris that inspired her to ask him do the nude drawing of her wearing her Star of the Ocean jewel.)
She was a one-legged prostitute,
Who posed for me in her birthday suit,
But her hands the most bewitched my eyes
(And urged me to rest between her thighs).
They seemed made out of a perfect mold,
So good they were to look at and hold.
They filled me with such admirer's awe
I asked for a chance to let me draw
Them both, juxtaposed with her fair face
One afternoon staying at her place.
I paid Madam for her company
Enough to let us two alone be.
As I pencilled away in the notebook
She gave me this bemused wistful look.
As if she had woken up from sleep,
Her green eyes I could look into deep.
When finished she looked, smiled, set me test:
"You've done this well - you can draw the rest."
I captured fully her female form
Which that stump in my eyes could not deform.
