Legacy of pain

Woah father,
Won't you break these chains from 'round my feet,
I' been walkin',
Walkin' up and down these dusty streets,
I've grown weary,
Weary from this ball and chain,
Can't you hear me father,
Can't you hear me callin' out your name,

Woah mother,
Won't you teach me to forgive,
Teach me to forgive your sins and the wicked life you've lived,
I' been tryin',
Tryin' to break free,
But oh mother,
Your lies just won't let me be,

Woah brothers,
Won't you help me lay this burden down,
Won't you help me burry this burden,
Burry it in the ground,
Oh brothers,
Won't you share this pain with me,
Won't you share this pain,
Like we share the blood that's in our veins,

Woah sisters,
Won't you meet me there,
Meet me down by the riverside in the valley of despair,
I' been tryin',
Tryin' to forget,
But oh sisters,
There's still so much that I regret,

Woah children,
Won't you learn from me,
I' been trapped in a life of misery,
Oh children,
Won't you promise me,
Promise me that when I'm gone it'll put an end to this legacy,
