The platypus

So many animals on this little blue planet
each vastly different with their own complex antics
Some so tall they see above trees
Others soar through the sky, others live in leaves

Some live in water, in lakes and rivers
some are prey and end up as carnivore dinners

But there is one animal that combines the strengths of others
so complex it seems to have mystic mothers

The venom of a viper
the feet of a duck
the body of a beaver
a creature created with luck

What is this creature called
what is its name
though its small
it plays no games

Fight with it and you might die
that's right it's the platypi
